The S.A.F.E. Center Inc. moved in conjunction with The Great I Am Temple to distributed care packets and monetary gifts to nominated senior citizens of Drew County. In an effort to work together to strengthen the community and keep senior citizens safe, six senior recipients were chosen from nominations to receive a monetary gift and care package. Those recipients were Bill and Gean Jones, Frank and Artie McCoy, Leo and Patsy Williams, Othello King, Joanna Johnson, and June Baker.

Proceeds were made possible from the Arkansas Community Foundation grant from Arkansas Delta Endowment for Building Community and The Great I Am Temple Church of Monticello. The deliveries were made by the Great I Am Temple pastor, Jerome Pace, and S.A.F.E. Center Inc., CFO/Director, Dr. Chris Allen.

COVID-19 has made things tough for many citizens, especially our senior citizens. With continued support from local businesses and agencies throughout Arkansas, the SAFE Center was able to close out the 2020 year, by providing financial support for a second time to senior citizens in Southeast Arkansas.

Additionally, we want to give a special thanks to the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame & the Arkansas Community Foundation for their continued support.
